Bafra (old name: Vokolida) is located in the Karpaz region of North Cyprus. The Bafra region covers 1.5 km of beautiful sand beach, which has one of the cleanest seas in the world. In order to maintain the sustainability of tourism in North Cyprus, the Government of Turkey has pledged to establish a 300 million dollar investment project with the help of Turkish businessmen.
A part of these investments include Bafra region, which facilitates the region with 14 quality hotels, comprising 11 five-star, two two-star, and one three-star, having an overall 20,000 bed capacity. This decision to implement the project took place in 1999. The construction of the facilities started in April 2003 and is expected to end by 2008.
One of the hotel already opened is Artemis Resort (see pictures on the left). Being one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Artemis Temple is re-born with Kaya Artemis Resort & Casino.
