Bogaz
Bogaz is a beautiful coastal village on the southern edge of the Karpas Peninsula, with half a dozen fish restaurants ranged round its harbour.
It also has very pleasant stretches of sandy beach. Further up the coast, about 5 km east, are the foundations of Strongylos Castle, a Byzantine watchtower enlarged by the Knights Templar in the 12th century.
Bogaz is well sited as a base to explorethe region, only a few km north of Iskele and about
25 km north of Famagusta, and on the
edge of Karpas. There are a number of lovely sandy beach here and all along the coastline going up to Famagusta. Bafra beach, just outside Bogaz, is one of the best beaches without a sign of a hotel and hardly of any houses.
Other facilities in the area (just 500 m away from the plot) include multi million pound shopping, tourist and entertainment development, "The Old Bazaar", began construction in autumn 2007.
